The three horizontally located cups are attached to the vertical axis of the anemometer and detect the wind speed. The measuring principle is simple: The stronger the wind blows, the faster the plastic cups rotate. The wind speed is calculated from the rotation speed of the shaft.

The cup anemometer has IP 65 protection that protects it from the entry of dust and water. You can select the unit with which you want to make the measurement: m/s, km/h, knots, thousands/h, ft/min. The air speed meter memorizes the maximum and minimum values, which you can later recall on the screen. Additionally, the anemometer is equipped with a memory. The memory allows the user to save the current measured value with the touch of a button and display it again on the screen after another measurement has been made.

Anemometer of cups

To extend the life of the batteries, the cup anemometer has an automatic disconnection. The anemometer works with four 1.5 V batteries, type AAA.
