This versatile dual-light microscope functions as a high-power transmitted light microscope for the observation of microscopic specimens and as a low-power reflected light microscope for the observation of larger objects, such as leaves and insects. The lower light can be used to observe in incredible detail ultra-small translucent specimens, such as cells, or even the vascular systems of thin leaves. And for more opaque objects, such as stamps, sand or insects, the top light provides reflected illumination. In total, the microscope offers five magnification settings: 40X, 100X, 250X, 400X and 1000X.

A 10-piece slide kit, with five biological specimens and five blank slides, is included to give the user a head start. Designed for students to learn science over years of continuous observations, it features full glass optics, a metal frame, two eyepieces (10X and 25X), a 360-degree rotating monocular head, and coarse and fine focusing. The light sources use a plug (adapter included) or three AA batteries (included). This microscope is perfect for academic studies at home for elementary through high school students.
